County Road Smoke-Off Competition Information:
- 1. Set up on Friday, September 5th, starting at noon.
- 2. Cooks Meeting Friday, September 5th 6:30 PM
- 3. Entry Fee non-refundable, no exceptions
- 4. No utilities provided.
- 5. Generators allowed.
- 6. No food sampling to the public prior to official tasting times. We appreciate your cooperation!
Each Team Agress To The Following Guidelines
General Considerations
- The competition is based on People’s Choice only.
- Awards will be given for the top 3 People’s Choice for each category of Brisket, Ribs and Pork. ‘Best of’ winner for dessert and side categories.
- Announcement of winners will be during the break of the band at approximately 8 PM. Prizes are TBD and will be announced as we get closer to the event.
Arrival
- DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 11 AM. If you do, do not set up or claim a spot. Wait in the parking lot or on Commerce Rd. (Do not park on Laming Rd). Please ensure employees can get around you to park and enter the building.
- NOON: Register at the competition table and receive your location assignment.
- Our parking is limited – please carpool if possible.
- All sites will be an estimated 20’ X 20’.
Competition Wristbands/Tickets (Who Gets in Free)
- Each Cook team will receive 3 competition wristbands. The cook team will decide who receives the wristbands.
- NO ONE ELSE enters tasting/band area after 4:30 PM free based on any relationship to a cook team. Everyone else pays. Tasting/Band tickets are $10.
- If someone from your Cook Team needs to leave and reenter on Saturday, or will not arrive until Saturday, a wristband will need to be worn.
Utilities
- ELECTRICITY WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. Generators are allowed.
- Please be respectful of your neighbors overnight. Quiet hours will be from 11 PM – 6 AM.
- There is no water provided in the cook off area.
- There will be port-a-potties and hand washing stations provided. Hand washing stations are NOT to be used for cleaning!
